Highly recommended new muffler from The Bus Depot. I installed it about 2 years ago and it was a real German made one, excellent quality (Ernst). I also got the rubber mounts, exhaust pipe and gasket. If your exhaust system is noisy and rusty, replacing the system will make it sound a lot better, with a nice resonant hum.

Diesel Vanagon exhaust mount width difference between Brazilian made rubber mounts and original mounts. Watch out for the Brazilian made rubber mounts, as they will break soon because they are drastically thinner than the originals!

Position the exhaust mount on the bracket and bolt it on before assembly.

Inserting a spacer to prevent excessive stretching of the wrong thickness Brazilian muffler mount. This thick metal piece came from the Vanagon seat belt holder and is exactly the right thickness to fill the gap.

These tough nuts are on the top of the mount and are hard to get to. They will make you say bad words.
